by John Petrakis
A funny and stylishly directed film about a restlless Indian teenager named Bali who works at his uncle's newsstand in the New York City subway. Bali senses that something important is about to happen and soon it does, in the form of a bag he is given for safekeeping by a low-level hood. This exchange sets off a comedy of errors as Bali learns much needed lessons about trust, coping and maturity over the next few days. A fast paced film that features strong performances by the director as Bali and Josh Pais as Charlie, the sleazy lowlife who leads him on his journey into the underworld.
